Hey everyone! Some extra updates for you this week!
- The new dictee has gone home and is due next Tuesday as usual! (See post below for download)
- Math homework due tomorrow for those not finished in class (see post below for download)
And some new reminders!
- Light switch art! - Students have received a paper to decorate, which will be turned into a sticker to put on a light switch, to encourage people to turn off the light when leaving the room. Some of those papers have gone home to be finished, but please ensure those papers return to the school by next Tuesday, October 31! We will be sending them off that day to get turned into stickers!
- Student Photos have gone home! You can order online or by returning the enclosed order form. Order deadline is Nov. 3!
- Photo Retakes are scheduled for Fri. Nov. 3!
Halloween Update!
As you are no doubt aware, next Tuesday, October 31st is Halloween!
Students are encouraged to dress up in orange and black to show their Halloween spirit! Costumes are also permitted, but please leave prop weapons at home. Things like full-face masks may be worn briefly to demonstrate the costume, but should be put away safely for the rest of the day so that they do not impede our work. If your child’s costume is bulky or awkward, they should plan to be able to remove it and have a change of clothes ready in case it becomes uncomfortable.
As a fun activity, we will be continuing our study of the Mexican Day of the Dead by watching the movie “Coco.” Coco is rated PG for thematic elements (including scenes that may be intense for young children). If you do not wish your child to view the film, please let us know and we will make other arrangements for your child during the movie.
One final reminder to please be mindful of the amount of sugar that is coming to school with your child on Halloween and the days following. One or two pieces of candy as a treat in their lunch kit should be the maximum.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out!
Merci!
